I love Star Wars and pretty much everything Star Wars related. While the prequel films aren't my favorite, I don't hate them by any means and the more I watch Episodes 2 and 3 the more they grow on me (I can't say the same for episode 1 but I have only watched it a couple of times). Blah blah blah. Empire is my favorite. I watched it on betamax at my cousin's house in the early 80s and I remember everything seeming completely huge, like I was part of it all. I felt wrapped in the film, like the rest of the world didn't matter while I was on Hoth and Dagobah.
I liked Episode 7 as well. My wife and I went to see twice in the theater, the first time on opening night and the second in a completely empty theater where it was just us, our own private viewing. We were able to talk during the film and discuss theories and it was a good time.
I thought Episode 7 it was a nice transition. It was an introduction for new characters and a new generation of Star Wars fans and I was entertained. All I am looking for in stories, films, and games is to be entertained. If that happens, if I can leave the real world for a couple of hours, I have that catharsis.
Needless to say, I am pretty excited about Rogue One. Also, Vader.
