So, the other day I bought a small box from Goodwill for a dollar to use as a dice box. I had been carrying my dice in a little bag and I wanted something else. Being the big spender I am, I bought the box (I think it was a watch box) as it looked pretty cool on the outside. I decided to refinish the inside with some red felt I had purchased a while back. So, I tore out the insides of the box and replaced them with felt panels (red felt glued over cardboard) so that it looks all elegant. I was pretty happy with how it came out. Here are some pics…
Outside of the box. I may paint this thing... I dunno. It locks with that little clasp.
Inside the box with the original interior. Not sure what Decree is and too lazy and uncaring to look it up.
I yanked the insides out.
I got this felt from the local Walmarts for a buck. It was 12" x 72" and I found it in the clearance material bin. Suckers.
So, I should have done a piece by piece tutorial but again I am lazy about taking photos while I'm in the process (my wife kept reminding me to take pictures). You can in the above shot that felt has been cut to go inside the top portion of the box. I glued a piece of cardboard to each felt piece. The corners are cut diagonal so they cover the carboard and leave little overlap. After that, I fitted each piece and then glued them all in.
And here is the finished box with some dice in it. This is the first time I have done this and I was really happy with the results. I like my dice box and I hope to have it for a long time.
