Just a note to let you all know that the surveys for the 2018 Far Away Land RPG Kickstarter have been sent. If you backed the project, get the suckers in. If you didn't back the project, you should feel ashamed (jk).
So, here's a Far Away Land RPG update...
Funds have been processed. The books are completed and digitally proofed. A test book (Adventure Awesome) has been sent to the printer to check for formatting/sizing/etc. As soon as it passes inspection, I will order a proof copy to ensure the measurements are okay. If everything looks good, I will then submit the remaining 14 books for print proofs (yep, a total of 15 different books: 5 books, 3 formats per book).
This week will see the finalization of the pdf versions with completed linked indices. Surveys will most likely be going out this coming weekend. So, backers should be getting pdfs pretty soon.
As a side note...
I have added 5 maps to Seas of FAL plus four full-page images as extras. The cover of Seas has also been reformatted to match the other books (this was a concern for some and something that had been gnawing at me). The indices are super thorough and the links should help navigation a great deal.
That's where we are. I'm really shooting to have all rewards sent by the end of May. I hope this is all good news.
Our FAL Kickstarter project was a smashing success with 160 backers and nearly 14k raised.
Thanks to all of our backers for making this happen. You all are awesome and we sincerely thank you.
Now, it is up to us to get the rewards out and delivered in a timely fashion. My goal is to get the final formatting done this week. This the setup for hardcover and paperback versions of the books. I am also getting the indices in order finalizing pdfs this week. We will do a final proofread of all content in the coming week or so. I want to have the files uploaded to the printer and ready for proof orders once the Kickstarter processing of funds completes.
The extended timeline consists of doing a print proof of all 10 books. This will take a bit of time as there are around 1600+ pages to look at. Hopefully we will only have to do a single print proof.
We will of course keep everyone notified as work commences.
Finally, I have a new version of the Quick Start Rules that should be getting uploaded this week. It reflects changes to the core rules and while these changes (in the QSR) aren't huge, they are accurate as to changes in the new books.
Okay. Back to work! Have a great week.
